By a large majority .. the United Nations supports the declaration of concrete steps towards a two-state solution

The United Nations General Assembly voted today, Friday, by a majority of 142 votes in favor, 10 votes against, and 12 abstentions, for a declaration that outlines concrete, time-bound, and irreversible steps towards a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, ahead of a meeting of world leaders in New York.

The resolution, which came after an international conference held last July under the auspices of Saudi Arabia and France, condemned the Israeli attacks on civilians and infrastructure in Gaza, as well as the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, affirming that the Gaza war must end immediately.
