The European Union Welcomes the Adoption of a "Roadmap" to Address the Crisis in Sweida

In a positive international reaction, the European Union welcomed the adoption of a roadmap aimed at addressing the crisis in the Syrian province of Sweida, just two days after the announcement of this roadmap following a trilateral meeting involving Syria, Jordan, and the United States.
The official spokesperson for the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Anita Heiber, stated: “We encourage the swift implementation of the agreement and the continuation of dialogue among all parties, with the aim of reaching a sustainable solution that protects all Syrians without discrimination and maintains Syria's security, independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.”
Heiber added in the same statement: “The European Union continues to call on the transitional authorities to ensure a comprehensive political transition that meets the aspirations of all Syrians.”
This European stance supports the agreement reached last week, which aims to address the situation in the province of Sweida and work towards enhancing stability in southern Syria.
The European Union was not the only international entity to welcome this step, as France, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Libya, and Yemen also joined in this welcome, reflecting an Arab and Western consensus on the importance of this step towards stabilizing Syria.
